A good protein bar recipe is essential for any serious bodybuilder. No matter your lifestyle, there will always be the occasion when you simply don’t have the time to prepare a decent meal. So you either go hungry or resort to eat some quick & easy junk food.
This is where protein bars are worth their weight in gold.
They provide a compact, quick to eat, mess free high protein source that you can eat on the go between meetings, travelling, etc.
You can always have a box of commercial bars as a backup but I highly recommend you play about with a homemade protein bar recipe until you get one that suits you.
You’ll save yourself a few quid but more importantly, your home made bars will be far more healthy than their commercial cousins.
Commercial bars need to contain some preservatives, otherwise they wouldn’t even make it the shelves before degrading.
Here’s one to get your started, you can try variations to suit your palette and needs.

Yes Dean 12g of fat per bar.
Most of the fat will be from the peanut butter and most of that will be unsaturated.
Your daily fat intake will depend on your goals, current muscle mass and exercise regime. Right now, my daily intake fluctuates between 60-90g fat daily. You’re only rigid goal with fat is to ensure that as much of it as possible is unsaturated.

These look, but not sure I would take the time to do this, rather than just buying protein bars.
How much do you think I would save on say 10 of these fudge bars vs. a package of protein bars at grocery store.

Savings will vary depending on what commercial bar you’re comparing to and what extra (if any) ingredients you decide to use. However the big reason for making your own bars is that yours won’t have any preservatives or additives in them.

Dude. Dude! These are the nuts ha-ha. Mind the pun!
Easiest and tastiest with maximum protein per bar. I hate paying the full whack for limited protein and additives in brand bars. Thanks for your simple yet tasty post
